Fundamental Beliefs

At Gospel Companion, we want teens and families to discover:

  • a faith that makes sense
  • a God who truly loves them
  • a hopeful future
  • authentic Christian community
  • a life shaped by truth, grace, and compassion

We believe Christianity should inspire wonder, purpose, courage, and love.

And we believe every young person matters deeply to God.

God Is Love

The Bible teaches that God is not distant, harxh or uncaring. His very nature is love. “God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.” — 1 John 4:16

God’s love is the foundation of everything we believe.

God Created a Perfect World

In the beginning, God created a world filled with beauty, peace, purpose, and life. Nothing was broken. Nothing was evil.

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth… God saw that it was good.” — Genesis 1

God does not create mistakes.

Humanity and creation were originally designed for joy, creativity, friendship, and love.

Humans Were Created in God’s Image

God created people with the ability to think, reason, create, love, and choose.

God invites us to know Him personally, not blindly, but thoughtfully.

“Come now, let us reason together,” says the Lord. — Isaiah 1:18

Faith is not the absence of thinking. God welcomes honest questions and sincere searching.

Sin Breaks Our Connection With God

Sin is more than breaking rules. Sin damages trust, relationships, peace, and harmony with God.

“Sin is the transgression of the law.” — 1 John 3:4

God’s law is built on love

Love protects life, relationships, nd happiness.

Pain, suffering, hatred, and death were never part of God’s original plan. When humanity turned away from God’s love, the world became broken. But God has never stopped working to heal and restore what was lost.

“God is love.” — 1 John 4:16

Eternal Life Is God’s Gift

The Bible teaches that eternal life cannot be earned. It is a gift freely offered through Jesus Christ.

“The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” — Romans 6:23

God desires to save, restore, and bring hope to every person willing to trust Him.

Jesus Came to Reveal God’s Love

Jesus was not merely a teacher or prophet. The Creator Himself entered humanity to rescue and restore His creation.

Through His life, death, and resurrection, Jesus revealed what God is truly like:

merciful, truthful, compassionate, and self-sacrificing. Jesus showed us that God would rather suffer for humanity than abandon humanity.

Salvation Comes Through Trusting God and Accepting His Forgiveness

Salvation is not earned by human perfection. It comes through trusting God’s grace, love, and promises.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith…” — Ephesians 2:8–9

God invites us into a relationship built on faith, not fear.

God Desires Friendship, Not Empty Religion

God cares deeply about obedience, but He desires something even greater: our hearts.

He wants trust, friendship, love, and willing devotion — not forced religion.

“To obey is better than sacrifice…” — 1 Samuel 15:22

True obedience grows naturally from love.

God Changes Us Through Love

As we trust God, His Spirit begins changing us from the inside out.

We gradually become more loving, compassionate, honest, patient, courageous, and Christlike.

“God is love, and whoever lives in love lives in God.” — 1 John 4:16

Christianity is not behavior modification. It is transformation through God’s love.

Jesus Will Return

The Bible promises that Jesus will one day return to restore the world completely.

Those who have trusted Him will be raised to eternal life.

“The dead in Christ shall rise first.” — 1 Thessalonians 4:16

For believers, the future is filled with hope.

God’s Kingdom Operates Differently

God’s kingdom is built on truth, freedom, justice, and love.

“By love serve one another.” — Galatians 5:13

God never forces love. Real love requires freedom.
